Arts Classes - Monday, March 30th

Theater: Costume Renderings
Objective: In this lesson, you will create sketches, drawings, or graphics that communicate what a specific character is wearing in a scene of the show. 
  • Journal Prompt: Create a list of the types of clothes your classmates and people your own age wear.
  • Create a costume design rendering for one of your costumes using the information you’ve gained from the script, your costume plot, and further research. 
Access assignment in PupilPath. Email completed assignment to Ms. Liddell at aliddell@schools.nyc.gov


CHORUS

·          Learning Target: Students will use the information gained from the BrainPop activity to create a 2-part harmony on the Acappella app.
o   “If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention. The time is now or never to make your dreams come true, you gotta wake up and pay attention.”   
§ Play around with different ways you can sing this phrase. 
o   Part I

·        Download the app onto your device to follow along instructions
·        Set up your profile
o    Make sure you configure your email address to your account. (This is necessary for you to submit your assignment)
o   For the purpose of this assignment, put your name in your user name

o   Part II
§  ACAPPELLA: Making Music
·        To start creating your own 2-part harmony click the spit screen layout and choose the 1 minute option
·        In video clip #1, replicate the given melody, singing the phrase twice through (there will be extra time, just press the record button again to stop recording)
·        In video clip #2, record your own harmony to the recording you made in the 1st video clip.
o   You can rerecord and edit your video as many times as you wish.
o   Part III
§  Once you’ve recorded your harmony the way you like it, you will:
·        Press share at the top right corner
·        Enter your name in the caption
·        Select private (anyone with the link can view)

·        At the very bottom, swipe right to the email icon and submit to my email: Bbartion@schools.nyc.gov by Friday, April 3rd
