Create a 3-4 stanza Ode,
Each Stanza should be 4-5 lines long
Remember your poem must have a title

FYI I know there's something that you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LIKE!
SAY IT IN YOUR ODE!!!!

An Ode is a Greek form of poetry that shows the reader how much you cherish, enjoy or even love a particular thing/object/hobby, etc.

Your Ode MUST have at least 2 of the following types of literary devices (figurative language) included within your poem:

Rhyme or perfect rhyme - Rhyme: The last word on the line rhyme.  Perfect rhyme: Last word on every other line rhyme.

Metaphor - Compares 2 things WITHOUT using like or as

Simile - compares 2 things USING LIKE or AS

Repetition - Words that repeat in poem that give the poem mean (is, on, a, etc. do not count)

Symbolism- Represents or is a symbol for something other than what it really is, ie.  The orange in "Oranges" represented love

imagery - Allows the reader to imagine what is written using the sense of: TASTE, TOUCH, SOUND, SMELL, SIGHT

Alliteration - Word that have the same beginning sound, i.e. She sells seashells by the sea shore.

These forms of literary devices (figurative language) will help make your poem exciting and interesting to the reader.  Have fun.  Get your Ode On!
